Have You Passed Through This Night? Pt. II

So today was the day when I got to interview two of the members of Explosions in the Sky and got to see them play live at the El Rey Theatre. But it was a really strange day. My interview with EITS was at 7:00 PM, so I left my parking lot at school at 6:10 seeing as how mapquest says it takes 15 minutes for me to get to the El Rey from school. Anyway, I end up at the El Rey at 6:55. I went into the parking lot and the fee to park was 8 dollars. So as I was entering I gave the worker a 20 dollar bill. He asked me if I had any change, but I told him he could just give me four dollars back because I was going to leave to pick up my friend and come back later. He said ok and ended up giving me 16 dollars back all in ones. So I ran to the venue to conduct the interview and I was all excited and everything. I shook hands with all the band members, except one who wasn't there at the time, and they just started talking to me like I was their friend. They were really nice guys. So we started the interview and after 5 seconds, I said hey let me stop this for a second to see if it is working properly. So I stopped it and we listened and it was fine. So we started over and the interview was awesome. It was basically me and them two talking for 8 minutes (8 minutes, how fiting?). So when the interview was over I left all excited and happy and went out to my car and called some people to say how it went. After 10-15 minutes I got in my car to listen to the tape. I played it and it started playing, but after 5 seconds it starting playing me practicing my questions. And it hit me, THE TAPE DID NOT RECORD!!!!! I was in complete and utter despair. My heart stopped. I then went back inside to see if I can get another interview. I went in and saw looked for them. I met The Drift, the opening band, and asked them where EITS was. Apparently they had gone out for dinner. So i started talking to The Drift and jokingly asked them if they wanted an interview. They were nice guys, but they said they would tell EITS what happened and maybe I could get another interview later. So I left the venue like a fool and waited in my car untill 8:00 when the doors would open. So at 8:00 I went in but the goons would not let me in the back without a pass. So I went out infront to get one and it turns out I had to be on a list to get the pass and I wasn't on the list. So in complete and utter despair I left the venue to pick up my friend. When i got to her school, since she had class, I waited for her. She came to my car at 9:15 and we headed on back to the El Rey. But it turns out her teacher was saying that people had plagiarized on their last essay. So she had a panic attack and we quickly turned back so she could talk to her teacher. So went back and parked and I forgot my car window all the way down (wtf?). She talked to her teacher and she ended up being relieved. So we headed out back to the El Rey and I didn't have any directions. On the way up the 10 freeway I just picked a pretty arbitrary exit and called my sister to look up the directions. It turns out I had picked the right exit after all. Anyway, we reached the venue at around 10:15ish and EITS had already started playing. I don't know how much I missed, but I missed something big I'm guessing because they never played "Your Hand In Mine" or "First Breath After Coma" which made me :( But the show was amazing. When it ended, I didn't even bother getting the interview. It was never meant to be. So I later dropped off my friend and on the way back I accidentally passed my first red light ever. But the whole way back home I was listening to Dustin Kensrue and had the biggest smile on my face. I just couldn't help loling about how awkward my whole day went. I know it doesn't sound very interesting, but it was. This was one of the most interesting days of my life. I drove almost 130 miles all around LA and came back home with 5 seconds of interview footage and a back smile on my face.
